Abstract :
The structure and the working principle of Magnetically Controlled Saturated Reactor (MCSR) were expounded, the 2-D finite element model of the 500kV DC help magnetic type of MCSR was established, the capability of single-phase MCSR was 40MW. The magnetic field distribution in the core was analyzed, currents in the working windings of the MCSR were calculated, the control characteristic curve was drawn, the calculation results were consistent with the experimental data, the volt-ampere characteristic curve was also drawn, when different current in the control windings. Harmonic analysis of the current in the working windings was done. It provides theoretical basis for the application of MCSR in the EHV grid and the UHV grid.
