  • Abstract
    This paper presents a single-phase multilevel photovoltaic (PV) inverter topology for grid-connected PV systems with a pulse width-modulated (PWM) control scheme and fuzzy based MPPT control. In this work 5 Level switching cell concept used to achieve 7 Level. The 4 level switching is achieved in both +ve and -ve conduction. Hence, 8 Level of conduction with the help of 6 switches can be obtained. Here 0 levels are common for both conduction, so 7 level is possible by connecting two auxiliary switches to a H-BRIDGE INVERTER. The controller is used to implement this PWM switching scheme together with a digital proportional-integral current control algorithm. One of the advantages of the multilevel configuration harmonic reduction in the output wave form without increasing the switching level or decreasing the power output. The functionality verification of the 7-level inverter is done using MATLAB/Simulink software.
