Abstract
In this paper, we briefly present a comparative evaluation of our sliding-window ATM switching architecture to show its performance superiority over other two existing classes of ATM switching architectures namely, the multistage interconnection network based ATM switch architecture and the growable ATM switch architecture. It´s efficient memory management and memory control allows for maximum possible throughput with lowest possible cell-loss rate for a given memory space. The class of sliding-window ATM switch architectures provide a new approach to high performance ATM switching for broadband communications
