Abstract :
Wireless Sensor Networks have received fabulous attention in recent years because of the growth of sensor device as well as wireless communication technologies. These networks are typically deployed in remote environment and the nodes are deployed with non-rechargeable batteries, so that the network lifetime is of crucial importance to a WSN. Cluster-Head node election in each round can severely reduce the energy consumption and reduce the lifetime of the network. Here, a fuzzy based energy-aware sensor network communication protocol is developed based on four descriptors - Energy, Concentration or Density, Centrality, Speed of Mobile Nodes. The fuzzy based protocol LEACH-ERE is used to address the `Hot Spot´ problem in clustering structure. In LEACH-ERE protocol it supports only stationary nodes. To extend the LEACH-ERE protocol, we provide mobility to the CH and member nodes within their cluster. The chance values are calculated using the fuzzy logic for the above parameters thus providing efficient cluster head election mechanism. Simulation result shows that the proposed MERE LEACH outperforms LEACH-ERE in Cluster Head Election.
