Abstract :
Dmitrii Pospelov, who recently celebrated his 70 year anniversary, is a mathematician with a widely open scientific horizon. The purpose of this plenary lecture is to give a survey of some results of D. Pospelov in the area of applied semiotics and to show that his real intention was to elicit the meaning underlying various phenomena which he studied.
