  • Abstract
    Presents a class of optimization problems dealing with selecting a measurement strategy at each instant of time for a passive receiver. The basic problem is then to compute an optimal policy, during a specified observation time interval, so that the prediction accuracy is optimized. This problem of measurement strategy computation can be transformed into a deterministic control problem. It is shown that the optimal measurement policy can be pre-computed before the measurements actually occur. A detailed description of this measurement strategy is presented in the case of a receding horizon observation interval.
