Abstract
Bistatic synthetic aperture radar (BiSAR) will play a great role in the coming decade since a large number of radar missions are being foreseen. This paper concentrates on the azimuth-invariant BiSAR where the transmitter and receiver are moving in parallel tracks with constant identical velocities, aimed at the development of a focusing algorithm for this configuration with synchronization error compenzation. An approximated omega-K image formation algorithm is described, and a detailed description of the time and phase synchronization error effects as well as a synchronization error compensation technique is analytically formulated. A derivation of the point response in wavenumber domain is obtained. The included algorithms are tested with simulated data, and some evaluated results are provided
