  • Abstract
    A mobile ad hoc network (MANET) is a self-configuring network of mobile nodes and is connected by wireless links. In MANET cooperation of nodes for transmitting packets from source to destination cannot be assumed because of the selfish nature of the nodes. The pricing method is one method to provide incentives for the nodes to ensure cooperation. The QoS is of much attention recently due to the bandwidth constraint and dynamic topology. There are two options given to the source node in the proposed routing scheme. A route with least cost and a route with QoS. The route is allocated to the user based on demand. The source has to pay a higher cost in order to transmit the packets through the route with QoS. The metrics used to obtain the route with QoS are bandwidth, delay and jitter. A pricing approach which is based on an auction structure is used to obtain the least cost route. A secured price distribution scheme is used to distribute the price to the nodes in the route.
