  • Abstract
Embedding philosophers in actual engineering R & D projects is advocated in response to claims that it is not really new, that it could not be implemented, and that it should not be implemented because it is too radical a departure from current practices. At a time of rapidly developing innovative technologies, introducing in their development additional expertise from humanities and social science and new ways of organizing research and development are needed and called for. Embedding can contribute to governance midstream.
