  • Abstract
This paper presents extensive computer simulation results of the traffic capacity of an indoor wireless PABX system, conforming to the CT2Plus which has been adopted as the Canadian Digital Cordless Telephone Services (DCTS) standard, under different environments and system configurations. Simulations were run in both multi-door and single-floor office building configurations, Multiple service providers were assumed for both kinds of buildings. It was also assumed that base stations for individual service provider are synchronized, but are not necessarily synchronized to the base stations of other service providers. For each simulation case, the traffic capacity of the wireless PABX system was evaluated under varying conditions, such as, base station density, base station placement and traffic density. The system traffic capacity was measured in terms of grade of service (GOS) and various GOS vs, offered traffic [Erlangs/Sq km/Floor] curves are presented. A comparison of different simulation results is given. It is shown that synchronization of base stations among different service providers could increase the system traffic capacity significantly in some cases
