  • Abstract
As the development of hybrid and electric vehicles (HEVs/EVs), it is important to understand what level of EMF emission from the transportation systems might be in the vehicle which may cause the hazardous health effects to the passengers. Although several regulatory are published by several organizations, however, there are still no legislative requirements to limit low frequency electromagnetic fields exposure for the general public in HEVs/EVs. Currently, the studies on HEVs/EVs are not sufficient enough since these transportation systems newly exist for a short period. Both of the above disadvantages result into the unclear concepts of the relationship between the health effects and the electromagnetic fields produced by HEVs/EVs. This paper is aim to review the current status of knowledge of electromagnetic fields related to HEVs/EVs, which is aimed to provide useful advice on guidelines for future legislations against potential adverse health effects.
