Abstract :
Various Hospital Information Systems are being used by the hospitals today, which has made decision making easier be it the diagnosis and treatment of patient or the regular hospital management functions like admission, laboratory, billing, inventory, pharmacy, payroll, physiotherapy, Outpatient Management etc. It not only reduces medical error which has no room in today´s healthcare management also it makes record storing like past history of patient using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and even medico legal cases easier. The author also highlights the standard and ideal features of Hospital Information Systems using the software developed by the SEED INFOTECH company as a standard software available in the market and commonly used by hospitals. Various hospitals were visited by the author to have an insight into the top management, doctors and users of the softwares vies on the enhancement of decision making in light of the use of HIS. The findings are graphically denoted in the paper along with the conclusion.
