Abstract
The traditional model of public administration is becoming obsolete and need to be redesigned to fulfill the new society requirements, using the benefits brought by the evolution of technology. e-Services represent the transposition of the traditional public services in the virtual world. This paper proposes a solution for the academic environment at the University POLITEHNICA of Bucharest, taking into consideration the issuance of an academic diploma. The solution is based on workflows, the best choice when implementing e-services. The paper focuses on analyzing and optimizing parameters like: scalability, accessibility, efficiency, usability and also on security challenges.
