Abstract
The mixed analytical-numerical techniques such as weighted index method (WIM) are one of most optimum for optical analysis of VCSEL microcavity because they combine advantages of analytical and numerical approaches, resulted in possibility to investigate theoretically realistic structures. The aim of this work lies in application of full-vector WIM to optical analysis of hot-cavity VCSEL for mode parameters extraction. It is concluded that the computational results presented in this work suggest the weighted-index method as a powerful technique for optical analysis of realistic and complicated VCSEL structures. The improvement directions for decreasing computational error and taking diffraction losses into account have been indicated.
