Abstract
This paper presents a 24-sector space vector pulsewidth modulation (SVPWM) technique for the control of shifted 30 degrees dual three-phase permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM). The motor is divided into three subspaces by using vector space decomposition method. The principle of voltage vectors selection and the method of time calculation are discussed as well as a vector control system based on the modulation strategy for dual three-phase PMSM is built. Then the simulation and experimental research has been implemented. Results show that the harmonic components in z1-z2 subspace can be effectively restrained and the output torque ripple of the motor can be decreased adopting 24-sector SVPWM technique. After that, the effectiveness of the modulation strategy is further validated by experimental results.
