Abstract
This paper presents a switched reluctance motor with unequal rotor arc width which is applied to improve the low speed and starting performance. Based on finite element simulation, the influence of different stator and rotor (contains the main rotor teeth and the auxiliary rotor teeth) arc width on the low speed and high speed performance are analyzed respectively. Besides, combined with the simulation results, the recommended range of stator and rotor arc width are given under different performance requirements.
