Abstract :
Analysis tools are required which allow the integrity engineer to assess the overall performance of a component within a subsystem for mechanical integrity. These tools must be integrated so that the engineer can blend the understanding of mechanical/physical phenomena with the methodology of reliability and integrity. Systems Control Technology, Inc. (SCT) is designing and implementing this integrity tool as a workstation design. This workstation engineering tool will not restrict the engineer in the analysis, but allow him the freedom to perform a variety of mathematical modeling tasks. The VSIP (Vehicle Subsystem Integrity Program) integrity workstation integrates the physical and mathematical modeling with the integrity methodology for identifying a problem and outlining the interconnections within the subsystem. Logistics and cost models and graphical interpretation through CAD/CAM/CAE (computer-aided design/manufacturing/engineering) technology are given
