Abstract :
This paper proposes a quality of service (QoS)-enhanced routing protocol for wireless sensor networks. The suggested protocol is based on a rotating head clustering approach, and incorporates QoS metrics estimation and efficient resource allocation to allow the support of video and imaging traffic over resource constrained nodes while extending the overall network lifetime. Performance of the proposed protocol is evaluated using analytical techniques. Numerical results provide insights on the selection of network parameters that improve overall network lifetime while maintaining high quality service.
