Abstract :
The use of point-to-multipoint Super-Lightpath to solve the RWA problem introduced in this paper shows large reductions in the number of wavelengths, thus allowing to simplify the optical layer. The reduction in number of transmitters and in the number of wavelengths that wavelength routed (WR) nodes must support is reflected into a very promising monetary cost reduction, especially when all-optical solutions are considered.
