Abstract :
Summary form only given, as follows. The effect of switching a plasma medium on a traveling wave has been shown in previous research to be the creation of waves with frequencies different from the incident wave frequency. The dispersive effect of this phenomenon is studied theoretically by considering the incident wave to be an impulse plane wave. An expression for the electric field of the wave is derived. The analysis has been extended to the propagation of turned-on waves in a switched plasma medium.<>
