Abstract :
Image quality is a key factor for labels´ characters recognition. The acquisition got by CCD camera directly has no high quality. When the image is converted to binary image, some strokes of characters lost and affected recognition rate. The protuberant characters´ key feature on the labels is that they have height or depth information. Due to this feature, here proposes the acquisition method of contour layer image based on shadow Moire¿ method in this paper. The method rebuilds the solid image of the character by computer technology based on the contour layer image, which can also eliminates the stroke odds and the loss of character edge partially. These solid characters images are rebuilt by contour surface. We can obtain the global 3D image. At last, syncopate the global 3D rebuilding characters on any planar, which can be realized as obtaining the 2D images of characters at any planar. The experiment results show that we can acquire good binary images of characters.
