Abstract :
We propose a new design method for optical CDMA networks called “statistical design” (SD)-which uses the interrelation between the physical layer and the data link layer. This generalized method allows significant reduction of the hardware costs, which are usually necessary to ensure low bit-error ratios, taking into account the bursty traffic of this type of networks. By this method various technological and software parameters can be derived
