Abstract
An efficient architecture for wideband digital down conversion (DDC) is presented. The basic idea is to decimate the input signal prior to filtering, and then realize the mixing process by the use of the Goertzel filter. Compared with the conventional wideband DDC structure, computational complexity with the proposed structure is only 1/M as much when decimation factor is M. Furthermore, this structure eliminates the constraint on the tuning frequency of mixer in the conventional efficient structure based on the polyphase filter. Simulation results are presented to illustrate the validity of new structure
