Abstract :
In the cost sensitive environment we are running our industrial plants today, the request for “Capital Expenditure” is frequently frowned upon. This forces engineers and technicians to listen to the Bean Counters and ignore historical practices of plant redundancy and repair vs. replace decisions. This paper attempts to analyze the “always repair” argument and attempts to give examples to assist the reader.
