Abstract :
Moving from single service systems to multiple services systems raises new challenges in multi-media LEO communication networks. Particularly, bandwidth allocation becomes more crucial for efficient use of wireless resources. In this paper, an adaptive bandwidth allocation method is presented. The approach is based on the fact that the bandwidth of a multimedia call is alterable in LEO systems and the bandwidth allocation problem is formulated as a constrained nonlinear optimization problem which aims at maximizing the satisfaction degree of the system. A genetic algorithm is developed to solve the optimization problem. Simulations have been outlined and the conformance to QoS parameters for the proposed approach has been verified
