Abstract :
Based upon nonlinear state coordinate transformations and a condensed dual Brunovsky form, a method for designing nonlinear state observers via output injection is presented. The design results in a state observer with linear observation error dynamics. Necessary and sufficient conditions are provided for identifying the class of nonlinear systems for which state observers with linear observation error dynamics can be obtained
