Wavelet Based Image Indexing and Retrieval

In this paper we present wavelet based image indexing and retrieval system for color images. Highly de-correlated wavelet coefficient planes are used to acquire a search efficient feature space. In this work low level feature, dominant color of the several images is extracted and keys are generated. The image key represents the image content with respect to other images in the database. At the time of the query, feature vector of the query image is computed and the database is searched for the matching feature vectors. All the images corresponding to the matched feature vectors are found to be similar images.
