Abstract :
This report discusses polarization bandwidth for the turnstile antenna in the simplest case of a planar wire or bowtie turnstile, without ground plane. The turnstile configuration under study uses two unequal dipoles to create circular polarization, for which a 90deg hybrid is not used. Although the present performance will be significantly altered by the ground plane and by wing drooping, a basic turnstile is a useful starting design before analyzing a complete system.
