Abstract :
A discussion is presented of the workforce time-scheduling method called flexible work hours or `flextime´. The historical and human behavior bases for the development of flextime are presented. Potential advantages and disadvantages for employer, employee, and community are examined. Also included are discussion of case histories of organizations which have installed flextime systems. It is felt that flexible work hour systems provide a viable alternative to rigid fixed hour scheduling and can enhance the quality of life at many work places
