  • Abstract
Part absence, background noise are difficult problems in SAR ATR, they can be overcome to some extent by detecting single scattering part of the target in the measured SAR data. In this article, an approach of single scattering part detection is proposed based on the target part-based scattering model. Thus, according to the properties of the scattering parts in the image domain, the corresponding scattering part in the model image and measured image can be matched to calculate a matching score. Through threshold judging, it can be decided whether a scattering part is existed in the measured data. The detection results can make an important contribution to SAR ATR. The efficiency of the method is confirmed by the experiments based on the simulated data of simple tank and MSTAR data which is employed as interfering data.
