Abstract :
The multiple coexisting modes in triple-push circuits are studied using harmonic balance and continuation methods. In order to utilize N-push circuits for power combination, the oscillating elements have to present a phase shift distribution of 2 pi/N among them. However additional modes with different phase distributions usually coexist with the desired mode. In this work these multiple modes are obtained and their dependence with the coupling strength and phase at the first harmonic among the oscillating elements is studied. The results are verified using a prototype around 6 GHz.
