Abstract
Many means exist for setting up a mapping protocol for an electric utility. The overall purpose of this report is to explain the options available in setting up a mapping protocol including data collection, storage and accessing routines. As a result, this report describes collection routines such as GPS and current mapping technologies. After covering the possibilities of collection and mapping routines, the most efficient mapping protocol is established and then discussed for validation
