Computer aided Characterization, and Synthesis of Corsican Songs

In this paper we present a project defined in collaboration between the University of Corsica, the association Voce di u Cumune and the research institute IRC AM. This project deals with computer aided characterization, classification and synthesis of Corsican songs. It involves two parts : (i) the definition of a corpus of the different kinds of Corsican polyphonic songs ; (ii) the synthesis of Corsican polyphonic songs. In both parts the presented approach leans on the integration of an original gestural support called mimophony and the use of powerful sound synthesis software. The link between mimophony and the synthesis of songs is realized own to the capture of gesture.
