Abstract :
Each of the uninterruptible power system (UPS) configurations described in this paper has its own advantages and disadvantages. Single module and parallel redundant systems are proven reliable but do not permit concurrent maintenance. The distributed-redundant, selective-redundant and hybrid AC-DC systems all permit concurrent maintenance and can provide continuous availability of conditioned power, given the proper power distribution system.
