  • Abstract
Biometric-based authentication can offer strong security guarantee for user identification. However, security of biometric data is principally critical since the compromise of the information will be permanent. Biometric cryptosystem is an emerging technology which employs both biometric and cryptography to protect the secrecy of the biometric template and secret key simultaneously. In this article, the relevant research progress and open issues in the field of fingerprint template protection are discussed.
