Abstract :
This paper presents a concept that a suitable sequence can be used to interconnect large adjacent asynchronous power systems. This sequence starts with DC links. As more DC links are added in, a simple modification to the DC transmission controls will achieve continuous synchronization which allows lower cost AC transmission lines to be added in later. Newly developed back-to-back voltage source DC links could be served as the interties for these power system networks and also can be used to uprating capacities of existing back-to-back DC links
