Abstract
Appropriate harmonic models of all power system components including power transformers are the basis of power system harmonic analysis. Currently, several harmonic models of transformers have been proposed. This paper firstly summarizes all available models of transformers and then derives a general harmonic model for transformers. Consequentially, the paper details the computation and harmonic analysis of the magnetizing current of a single phase power transformer. Finally, based on the controlled source model of power transformers, the paper derives its practical harmonic equivalent circuit
