Abstract :
For developing the hydropower resources scientifically and efficiently on Yalong River, it is imperative for Ertan Company(EHDC) to treat the development of the river as a whole and to form an integrated management pattern including watershed management of the whole river, collectivization management and scientific management. The following crucial topics are waiting for answers: 1) the centralized control of the development and operation of the hydropower stations along the river, 2) the effective collaboration among multiple projects and multiple organizations, 3) the establishment of a new effective management system. Business process management(BPM) can be a good alternative solution to these pressing questions. BPM is based on an enterprise´s strategy and has a set of operational theories and tools to transform an enterprise´s strategy into operational processes. This article begins with a literature review of BPM and the necessity and feasibility of BPM to hydropower enterprise is discussed next. The core work of this article is to put forward an infrastructure named BPM-based River Development and Operation Model. More details about the implementation of the model are discussed.
