Abstract :
According to the feature of neuron self-learning, a neuron based adaptive controller is proposed for the position servo control of CNC machine tools. The algorithm has the outstanding characteristic that the identification of system models is no longer necessary. Moreover, the simplicity of calculation makes the algorithm very suitable for practical engineering application. A simulation research is also outlined. The control algorithm is applied to real-time control of the position servo system of a CNC machine tool for the first time and excellent experimental results illustrate the high effectiveness of the neuron-based controller proposed
