Abstract
In terms of the restriction conditions of the inclusion principle and LMI algorithm, an approach of the decentralized robust H∞ controller design is proposed for the multi-area overlapping interconnected power systems, based on the control of two by two area interconnected subsystems. Taking the two-area overlapping interconnected power system as an example, a simulation of the system responds to load step disturbances is presented. The simulation result illustrates, without losing decentralized control capability, the designed controllers improve the robustness of the system and provide the basis for area autonomy decentralized controls, coordination, combined optimization and intelligent control
