Abstract
In normal operation, modern power systems can supply high quality electricity. However, in the case of accident in the grid or load variation, the power system may become unstable. Excitation control is usually used to attenuate the effect of grid accidents. However, the exciter may move unexpectedly at times because of its saturation characteristic. In this paper, we propose a new feedback law based on a theory of saturation control developed by the authors to stabilize power systems under an accident. The proposed method is verified through simulations.
