Abstract :
A novel two dimensional Photonic Crystal Bandpass Filter (2D-PCBPF) is designed on the basis of coupling between the waveguide and circular photonic crystal ring resonator (PCRR). By adjusting the radius of the coupling rod and the dielectric constant of the structure, the output efficiency is investigated. The normalized transmission spectra of circular PCRR have been studied by using the Finite Difference Time Domain (FDTD) method. The Photonic Bandgap (PBG) has been calculated by Plane Wave Expansion (PWE) method. Approximately, 100% output efficiency is achieved over the range 1510 nm - 1520 nm through this simulation.
