Abstract :
Procurement of major equipment plays significant roles to construction project. Suppliers use buffer time to response the uncertainty of duration in construction projects, while this pattern inevitably creates time wastage. This paper examines the buffer time pattern and finds out the origin of time wastage. Reschedule the procurement of major equipment in construction projects and create an enhanced pattern, which integrates contract, information and organization measures, to improve construction supply chain management and reduce time wastage.
