Abstract :
Usage mining is the application of data mining techniques to discover usage patterns from Web data. It can be applied to understand and analyze such data, and turned into actionable information that can support an electronic business to improve its marketing, sales and customer support operations. This paper has attempted to provide a survey of the rapidly growing area of Web usage mining. With the growth of Web-based applications, specifically electronic commerce, there is significant interest in analyzing Web usage data to better understand Web usage, and apply the knowledge to better serve users.
