Abstract :
The vacuum unloading system for the Tampa, Florida cement plant is described, and its operation and maintenance are discussed. It is concluded that the vacuum unloading system is a sound concept and, with the proper sizing of equipment and arrangement of facilities, can accomplish all that is needed in a ship unloading system. Environmentally, it has met the rigid requirements at Tampa, which was a major consideration in the selection of a system. A schematic diagram and pictures of the Tampa unloading operation are included
