Abstract
A proposed spiral planar antenna is designed using CST Microwave Studio. The antenna operates at the Medical Implant Communication Service (MICS) band; 402MHz-405MHz. It is fabricated on Rogers 4350 of thickness of 1.524 mm, relative permittivity of 3.66, loss tangent of 0.04 S/m and measured using network analyzer. The effect of the existence of tumors in breast on the return loss is studied and used as a tool to detect the presence of cancer cells and its stage.
