Abstract :
Wireless signals are subject to multipath propagation, which results in fading. The signals also suffer from interference due to factors such as frequency reuse. A fading signal fluctuates around its mean signal level. Two important second order statistics associated with signal envelope fading are the level crossing rate (LCR) and the average fade duration (AFD). This paper explores the LCR and AFD issue in an interference-limited environment with Nakagami fading. Expressions for the LCR and AFD are derived.
