Abstract
Performance of a decorrelating detector in asynchronous DS CDMA is deteriorated by the edge effect, that is, influence of the truncated information bits at the beginning and end of the processing window. To neutralize this effect, a chip interleaving implementation before the transmission is proposed and analyzed. It is shown that this technique secures optimal near-far resistance, removes edge effect entirely and provides visible energy gain, especially when properly adjusted users´ signatures are employed.
