Abstract
Building on earlier work on fuzzy modeling of facial expressions we consider the problem of reasoning about the transition between two facial expressions. To deal with this problem we propose a hybrid reasoning scheme combining generalized modus tollens and fuzzy backward reasoning. The approach is illustrated by an example, and we conclude with a discussion about possible applications to an intelligent human-computer interface using the transition model
