Abstract :
This paper presents the study of rain cells in the geographic area of the Basque Region in order to a later application in radio communication systems. It will be analyzed both, space and time variability of rain rates, to obtain a reliable characterization by parameters like size, speed or direction of propagation of rain cells. This work will obtain the necessary conclusions to apply the results on the design of dynamic fade countermeasures, in those radio links working at frequencies over 10 GHz.
